    I have found all of this an interesting read. I am currently based in the Nursery room of a nursery school and our whole behaviour policy is introduced from the start of their time with us. The children all start on the sun and can be moved to the rainbow then the pot of gold. We do have a cloud that they are moved onto if things go wrong. For hitting and hurting we do use thinking time but I personally don’t think this is understood (the children are 3-4 yrs). At our next team meeting I think I will raise this.

    That would be amazing Nicky thank you. I have come up with the idea of using helicopter stories to build communication. Not sure if I am totally on the right train of thought 🤔

    I am looking at an oracy based project. I work in a nursery classroom (part of a primary school). We have 50% pupil premium students and the school and 30% EAL. Many children form disadvantaged backgrounds. We have a high number of children with extremely poor language and communication skills. Any advice, guidance or support would be greatly appreciated.

    Hopefully my reflective log and SSTEW will attach 🙂

    I have added a note at the end of my SSTEW as I don’t feel it is actually reflective of my setting’s encouragment of SST through storytelling. The day that I carried it out was one of those days where things are just a bit bonkers.
