Hi Tim – thank you for posting your activity. Good to see your reference to the reading material and the background behind this type of investigative play.
I would add a little about the role of the adult in this situation – as a passive observer and how, by observing what the child is most interested in will lead on to developing that interest or by adding similar things (textures, sounds etc.) would extend the investigative play.

Hi Emma I think you’ve covered just about everything in your plan- and what a lovely range of experiences you are giving your children. You say you have very little exp. of this age group but I can see in the way that you write that you are tuned into and thinking about all the needs/possibilities within the group of children.
I really like how you have thought about your continued provision to give children a range of other opportunities to develop their fine motor skills long after you have introduced tour activity.

HI Hayley – This is a really strong activity and one that you can use in a variety of ways. I think your reflection is very honest and it can be annoying when things are put togehter for a reason and children use them in different ways but look at the language development your activity supported.

Hi Mikaela, I agree with your reflection at the end of interim task 1 and can see how you have thought about your current practice and about your role/the practitioner within
the room. I think you are thinking of how best to support children that are following schema.

You have put so much ‘learning’ into your 2nd. task and I can see how towards the end you followed the children’s lead and went with their interests.
