Hi all,
I have now collated all the IDPs that I have received and taken a snapshot of ideas for how people are evidencing sub-standards (through development and leadership).
I have attached the overview – some of you might get some ideas that either feed into your Change Projects or you evidence base.

AjamesKeymasterWhat a lovely example and really shows the effectiveness of engaging children in maths through everyday, real-life activities.
There is a lovely book out there, full of super practical maths ideas. ‘Messy Maths’ by Juliet Robertson – I highly recommend it!
AjamesKeymasterThanks for sharing that Lauren, what a super exercise! I love the movie idea.
Don’t forget to use your dissemination of yesterday to staff as evidence for standard 8!
AjamesKeymasterSascha Goodman, an outstanding former trainee and current External Mentor, has given permission for me to share her mini-change project on ‘Active Stories’. It is an excellent project and also a very good example of how to lay out a change project (although yours will be larger).
Enjoy!

AjamesKeymasterHi Louise,
That could be really interesting. You might also want to look at Helicopter Stories.
I’ve also attached a couple of articles that might be of use. We also have an ex-trainee who did a mini-project on this – I’ll ask her if we can share it.

AjamesKeymasterThis is a good, thorough observation Isabella. It would be interesting to unpick in more detail the SST techniques that were used, as it sounds like the practitioner could have been using a few.
AjamesKeymasterLauren, I hope you’re using all the advice you’re giving on these forums as evidence for standard 8!! Make sure you also include the planning, delivery and outcomes of staff meetings.
AjamesKeymasterSascha has given permission to share her email saschagoodman91@gmail.com
AjamesKeymasterI think Nicky is right, both might be a bit much. I’ve attached the recent resilience pack that was sent out – this might be a nice place to start. One of our new External Mentors, Sascha Goodman, is an ex-trainee and she did an outstanding project on mindfulness a couple of years ago – it might be worth getting in touch with her. I’ll ask her if she’s happy for me to put her email on here and get back to you.
AjamesKeymasterYou might also like these articles on the development of scribbling in terms of cognitive development and early writing.

AjamesKeymasterYou might also like to look at the SchemaPlay website by OMEP. They have a fantastic activity book: Education for Sustainable Citizenship – think children’s future today!
AjamesKeymasterLove this Lauren. I think it also hi lights the fact that we too continue to evolve as learners, not just teachers!
AjamesKeymasterHi Jade,
Many thanks for these, they provide an interesting insight into peer observation and feedback. I’d be really interested to learn more about the following:
In peer obs 2: what specific CL skills would the Halowe’en text support; what specific skills could the practitioner develop through enhancing the paint provision and what objects could they use?
AjamesKeymasterWhat an amazing selection of ideas – well done and keep them coming. I’d be particularly interested to hear ideas on how you can further explore the vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines aspect of trajectory scheme. Piet Mondrian, artist, might be an interesting one and could incorporate enclosing.
I’d also be really interested to hear how you develop staff knowledge and understanding. Standard 8 folks!!
AjamesKeymasterExcellent additions – perhaps you could share some examples of visual supports with your fellow trainees.
