Perhaps, if we happen across a website/book/template/webinar etc, we could share them here to help the group

I was trying to think around a suitable reading resource for a newborn and I asked myself how developed would their vision be. I was then able to find out about high contrast black and white picture books for this age group.

If you fancy a bit of research, this site offers free student membership to those “on a postgraduate programme related to education”. If you register, it allows access to academic journals, periodicals etc via the EBSCO database. A number of book discounts are also available. Plenty of access to full articles on EY subjects although the search criteria phraseology may take some tweaking.

Learning through play in the early years.

A colourful and user-friendly document about provision and progression of play. Well worth browsing.
(A sort of how to play manual)

    Play themes are sectioned:
    Dramatic
    Sand
    Water
    Clay/dough
    Tabletop
    Small world
    Construction
    Creative

Although developed for Northern Ireland’s curriculum, it has great ideas and details that are certainly transferable to EYFS.

As a new career change, this document will definitely help me to plan my future lessons. I hope you find it useful too.
(If you wish to print, it is readable with four slides per page to save on paper and ink.)

    Hi Arelene,

What a wonderful resource you have found – certainly highly applicable to the EYFs – I really like the way it clearly explains progression learning too!

    Thank you for sharing!
    Nicky
