Please upload your interim tasks here before CPLD day 6.
    Tasks:

    1. Complete a peer observation of an EAD / UW activity: linked to sub-standards 3.3; 4.5; 8.4; 8.5; 8.6
    2. Identify the area you feel least confident in.
Begin to develop an activity for one of these areas for T / YC ( in readiness for CPLD day 6): linked to sub-standards 2.1; 3.3; 4.2; 4.3; 4.4

    Hi Jade,

Many thanks for these, they provide an interesting insight into peer observation and feedback. I’d be really interested to learn more about the following:

In peer obs 2: what specific CL skills would the Halowe’en text support; what specific skills could the practitioner develop through enhancing the paint provision and what objects could they use?

    Hi Linh

This is a really lovely lay out to peer observations – what did you see , what did your hear etc.
You state that the practitioner extended thinking through the use of open questions and modelling language. In what other ways did the practitioner extend thinking? For example, clarifications , affirmations ,modelling thinking , ” I wonder …” etc.
Yo also note that it would b useful to consolidate the children’s learning at the end of the activity – how might the practitioner go about this?
Would this be a target for development in her practice?

Sorry Nicky are we supposed to be observing somebody else or is a peer observing us? I assumed the latter so my colleague has observed me but I can observe a member of my staff too, not a problem

    HI Lauren
I would observe a colleague too – the more peer observations and joint reflections you do the easier it will become to really get those deep cortically reflective skills!

This is a good, thorough observation Isabella. It would be interesting to unpick in more detail the SST techniques that were used, as it sounds like the practitioner could have been using a few.

Please find attached our UTW and EAD peer review. I am awaiting my colleague’s write up of her observation for me which was an activity involving taking the children out in the local environment and looking at the natural changes. We then used a collection of goodies to make some Autumn pictures. I will upload this as soon as I have it 🙂

This is my peer to peer observation on a colleague who looked at the 5 senses UTW.
Here is a peer to peer observation on myself from a colleague observing EAD, mixing colours.
    Some pictures also.
