Idea for remote learning/engagement

At Amanda’s request/dare to share:

This was quite the conversation extender between parents and children!

After one child mentioned a Christmas gift (a talking reader device) I was able to learn of their favourite book so far…The Smartest Giant.
I wished to try to extend parent engagement via the online journal. I used this book to open up discussion to all of our cohort.
I chose a character from the story and I took some pictures of my face painting as well as including a link for a video reading of the book. I then asked about favourite animals…good response rate! (Plus, the children and parents liked to see me looking like a giraffe/idiot.)

Perhaps you could immerse yourself into some favourite story book characters to share the passion for reading…and some much needed comedy for the homeschooling parents?
