When I taught counting on to my Year 1 class, I used this ten frame. I didn’t understand why the NCETM used a bus that looked like a ten frame, but wasn’t. Such a clear link missed! Anyway, luckily ©Coriel’s Cubby created one. I used the NCETM story of first, then, now. Acted it out with the kids physically, then they used a ten frame between two and practised telling the story with different numbers.
